London, 27th June 2018: The UK dairy industry has paid tribute to the outstanding contribution from one of its best-known figures, Lyndon Edwards, organic dairy farmer and former Chairman of Dairy UK’s Farmers’ Forum.

Receiving the Dairy UK award from noted journalist Andrew Neil at this year’s Annual Dinner, Mr Edwards, who oversees all farm and business activities at his 670-acre organic dairy farm outside Chepstow, expressed his delight at winning the award.

Mr Edwards said: “I am honoured to receive the prestigious Dairy UK award and am proud to follow in the footsteps of the men and women who have done so much to help the UK dairy industry thrive. I am passionate about the work I do and want to thank everyone who has made it possible for me to contribute to, and promote the sector over the years. I look forward to working with Dairy UK and other dairy stakeholders to drive progress over the coming years.”

Dr Judith Bryans, chief executive of Dairy UK, said: “Lyndon’s passion for the industry is clear to everyone who knows him. His tireless efforts to promote the UK dairy sector coupled with his past leadership of Dairy UK’s Farmers’ Forum, of which is remains a valued and active member, make him a worthy recipient of the 2018 Dairy UK award.”

“Lyndon Edwards is a real asset to the dairy sector and is a brilliant example of a progressive, dynamic, innovative and successful dairy farmer and a true ambassador for British dairying.
