Dairy UK (Northern Ireland) is holding an important ½ day seminar on Tuesday, 16th October to examine forthcoming changes and adjustments to the Common Agricultural Policy, which has been termed by the European Commission as the CAP “Health Check”. Under consideration will be export refunds, which have been crucial to the NI industry in the past, the future for intervention prices and other support measures, modulation and other adjustments to the CAP, and how these will specifically affect the NI dairy industry going forward. We also hope to have some early indication from the Commission on the arrangements to terminate milk quotas, which have shaped the industry for more than 20 years.

There is an impressive line up of speakers including the Head of Milk Sector from DG Agriculture, Brussels, the Chief Executive of United Dairy Farmers, the Director of the Irish Dairy Industries Association, Dublin and speakers from AFBI, UFU and Dairy UK.

The seminar will be officially opened at 10.00am sharp by a VIP. Registration and coffee is at 9.30am and the seminar will finish around 1.15pm followed by lunch.

We look forward to seeing you there.
