Voice of the industryDairy UK is the voice of the dairy industry Dairy UK employs a range of methods to communicate with members, media and decision-makers. We work hard to keep members informed of developments; we consult on legislative proposals and present government with a unified industry response and we publish a flagship subscription-based magazine called Milk Industry. Dairy UK also helps to raise and protect the industry's profile with targeted communications and through crisis management. For example, in 2007, Dairy UK successfully minimised the impact of foot and mouth disease on the sector's products. Regular briefings, meetings and receptions for politicians and civil servants are held in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. Our industry conferences and seminars are well attended by Government representatives and our informative policy guides, published at regular intervals, are to be found on the desks of key decision makers within Government. We directly represent our members' interests within the Dairy Supply Chain Forum, Assured Dairy Farms, Assured Food Standards, the International Dairy Federation, the European Dairy Association, CODEX, Defra’s FISS Champions Groups, Improve! and UK-IDF.
