Our structureDairy UK is based in London, with further offices in Edinburgh and in Belfast and a team of regional services managers. Our activities are governed by the main Board, with regional activity directed by Scottish and Northern Irish boards. Regional Boards, Committees and Working Groups In addition to the regional boards, Dairy UK operates a range of committees and working groups. All members are entitled to attend and receive papers for all Dairy UK meetings, except for the main Board and the Strategy Committee. These include: - Strategy Committee: Provides advice and guidance to the Board via detailed analysis and evaluation of long term commercial issues and opportunities affecting the dairy sector.
- Milk Issues Group: Considers all matters relating to milk purchasing and collection, including farm assurance, animal welfare, milk production trends and regulations affecting the cost environment for dairy farmers.
- Scientific and Technical Committee: Evaluates draft industry legislation, including hygiene regulations, animal health, food safety, nutritional composition and labelling, and health claims.
- Environmental and Sustainability Committee: Addresses initiatives such as sustainable consumption and production, FISS, Climate Change Agreements and legislation, the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, Nitrate Vulnerable Zones.
